Miles and Zoey: The Family Tree is the first book from Kimberly Mayhoe’s new middle-grade children’s book series. Kim is no stranger to the world of children’s entertainment. She has served as Associate Producer on a handful of Disney Channel’s popular television series (Phil of the Future, Wizards of Waverly Place, JONAS). After graduating from the University of North Texas with a degree in Radio-TV-Film in 1996, the Texas resident relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. She began her career in television 15 years ago at Lynch Entertainment, working in Post Production on several Nickelodeon and Disney projects (The Secret World of Alex Mack, The Journey of Allen Strange, 100 Deeds of Eddie McDowd, The Jersey). After her stint at Lynch, she transitioned to the creative side of television working in Development and Programming for Viacom Productions and The WB Network.

After learning the in and outs of the development side of television, Kim once again decided to make a change. In 2003, she formed Butterfly Ink Publishing and published her first novel, 40 Hours and an Unwritten Rule, under her birth name, Kim Williams.

With the success of her first book, Kim decided to tap into the children’s book world with the Miles and Zoey book series. Due to the continuing themes of history and family in the middle-grade series, Kimberly decided write under her mother’s maiden name, Mayhoe, to pay homage to her family.

Kim has a busy and promising writing career ahead. She co-wrote and produced a play, www.bitchtheplay.com, that premiered in Los Angeles in September 2010 and is currently writing the second book of the Miles and Zoey series, "Power to the People" due to release in 2012.
